Mel Bazil is a Gitxsan and Wet’suwet’en man, father, storyteller, counsellor, and activist. His experience in these territories sees him active in the schools, community partnerships, and as a long-term presence at the Dze L K’ant Friendship Centre Society (as he was raised in Friendship Centres). He loves his family, people, culture, land, and waters, and works to continue witnessing his people rise to the occasion.
The Alcohol and Drug Counsellor provides one-on-one, group, and family support to individuals who are or have been involved with substance abuse. Support includes educational, activity-based, and counselling services. Assistance is geared towards respecting individual needs and providing timely, appropriate, and effective supports to address these. Where necessary, the Alcohol and Drug Counsellor also develops treatment plans and undertakes referrals.
