Charrine Lace is from the Laksilyu (Small Frog) Clan of the Wet’suwet’en. She is trained in Northwest Coast Native Art, First Nations herbs and medicinal tea, computer graphics, business, and accounting.
Charrine readily volunteers for local elementary and high school First Nation Programs throughout the school year, facilitating First Nations art and craft workshops, as well as events around the Bulkley Valley.
As a 60s scoop child, taken at the age of 2 years old, Charrine returned to live in Witset in 2011, with her husband and two children. She finds solace in the spiritual practices of smudging, meditation, and being out in nature. From spring to fall, you will typically find her outdoors, enjoying the wilderness.
The Family Gathering program is mandated to support families to work with communities of the Bulkley Valley, addressing the social determinants of health and wellbeing. Through the program, Charrine creates opportunities for families to come together, celebrating culture, food, and traditions in a safe and welcoming environment.
