Josephine became a member of the Houston Dze L K’ant Friendship Centre Society in 2022, bringing a wide variety of experience in the mental health field—including substance use, suicidality, and crisis management. Josephine holds a BSc in Psychology (UBC) and is currently writing her thesis, completing a M.Ed in Counselling (UNBC).
Josephine’s practice builds from a Person-Centred foundation, and prioritizes using a Trauma-Informed approach. Josephine also acknowledges how systems influence one’s experience in life, including the role of systemic discrimination and oppression. She recognizes that each person has their own unique story, and strives to empower the clients she works with. Through group and individual counselling services, Josephine has created a place where clients can feel safe, valued, and listened to.

- Complex, Developmental, and Acute Trauma
- Depressed Mood, including thoughts of suicide
- Feelings of Anxiety
- Grief and Loss
- Exploring Gender Identity
- Substance Misuse, including addictions.
Houston’s Dze L K’ant Friendship centre provides mental health counselling and supports in Houston for individuals, couples, and families who want a third party for support, coping, and problem solving. Trauma informed therapy helps us to feel more connection and life satisfaction.
