Raised in Terrace, BC, Carrie moved to Houston in 2019, joining the team of the Dze L K’ant Friendship Centre Society during that May. Previously, she was teaching kindergarten thru Grade 3 in Fort Babine, BC. With a diploma in Social Services Community Support (College of New Caledonia), Carrie has extensive experience working in First Nations communities. She is passionate about family and youth support.
In her personal time, Carrie and her son enjoy going on outdoor adventures—from hiking with their dog, to taking out their quads and getting muddy!
The Connections Project provides outreach support focused on reducing risks and addressing child protection concerns. The program supports families with children returning from foster care and works closely with other service providers to streamline and enhance planning. This collaborative approach ensures more comprehensive and effective support for children and youth. The Program Coordinator regularly partners with MCFD workers, Delegated Aboriginal Agencies (DAAs), and other community organizations to deliver coordinated, impactful support for children, youth, and families.
